Union Mutual is looking for a professional Data Scientist to join our dynamic team of Analytics professionals based in our Montpelier, Vermont office. The Company will consider remote or hybrid work arrangements, but candidates must be able to attend weekly in-person meetings in the Montpelier, Vermont office.
The Data Scientist performs complex data and financial analysis in an evolving data environment. The position works with each of the business units of the Company to understand and devise possible solutions for predictive analytics, and to evaluate, maintain, and improve existing machine learning models and AI tools for business objectives in department workflows.

Job Requirements: We are seeking a qualified Data Scientist who combines a solid educational background with a suite of technical and soft skills. The ideal candidate will have a master's degree in Data Science. Technical proficiency is key; candidates should be skilled in programming languages such as Python, and have experience with Python packages like Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and Matplotlib for data processing, statistical analysis, and machine learning tasks. Additionally, familiarity with database languages, notably SQL, is essential. Experience with AWS and cloud computing platforms is a significant plus, providing an edge to candidates who can leverage cloud resources for data processing and analytics. The role demands strong analytical skills for interpreting complex data and translating business challenges into data-driven solutions.
