Data Scientist Intern

Summary

The Data Scientist Intern will apply statistical theory and methods to collect, interpret, and summarize data as well as make predictions and recommend actions based on data.

Essential Functions

• Conducts statistical analyses to develop strategies.
• Identifies data patterns and trends.
• Proposes solutions and strategies to business challenges.
• Presents information using data visualization techniques.
• Documents all processes and research.
• Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques.
• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
• Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
• Utilize various business intelligence tools or systems, including databases, spreadsheets.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education, Skills, Experience, Knowledge and Supervisory Responsibility

Rising junior or senior in an accredited bachelor’s degree program (Class of 2023)

Strong desire to learn new skills

Pursing a degree in Data Science, Data Mining, Data Analytics, or similar field

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced PowerPoint skills

Flexible/Adaptable - ability to work effectively in a variety of situations and respond to change in a positive manner

Ability to manage multiple projects

High degree of professionalism; inclusive and collaborative work style

Experience using business intelligence tools and data frameworks (i.e., Tableau or similar BI Tools)

Work Environment

This position operates in an office environment.

Physical Demands

Must be able to lift 20 lbs.

Travel

Zero to minimal travel required.

Exemption Status

This is a non-exempt role reporting to the Branch Manager or General Manager.
