Overview: The Democratic National Committee is seeking a Data Scientist to support the Biden campaign and Democrats up and down the ballot. This person will combine statistical and programming skills with domain knowledge to create predictive models and other statistical tools and methodologies. The Data Scientist will work collaboratively with other members of the analytics team, along with other campaign departments. We are looking for folks with a variety of backgrounds and experience, and are dedicated to building a team that looks like America.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze datasets to extract meaningful campaign insights.
- Assist with questionnaire development, sample design, and survey fielding.
- Help maintain survey infrastructure and core data assets.
- Work with a cohesive team to execute projects with accuracy, attention to detail, and timeliness
- Design and build reports and tools for teams across the campaign in-line with key programmatic priorities
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
- 1+ year of experience applying data and analytics tools in a political, business, or non-profit setting.
- 1+ year using SQL professionally.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new skills and platforms used by other team members.
- A track record of prioritizing projects with the ability to be self-directed.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A desire to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and implement creative solutions to unique problems.
Additional Useful Skills & Qualifications:
- Familiarity with fielding surveys and analyzing survey data.
- A technical skill set that includes familiarity or proficiency in a variety of programming languages/software such as (but not limited to) MS Excel, Google Suite, Python, QGIS, R, and dbt.
- Experience volunteering or working in politics.
The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $110,000, on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position is in the bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local-500.
