POSITION TITLE: Data Scientist
CONTRACT DURATION: 12 months, ongoing
WORK LOCATION: Culver City, CA
OVERVIEW: We are seeking a Data Scientist who is passionate about motivating change through the intersection of marketing and technology. As a Sr. Analyst for the Growth Marketing Operations team, you will help influence the strategy of key MarTech initiatives for Media Products and Services.
This role will work across several line of businesses and stakeholder teams to help optimize the delivery of automated journeys and in-app notifications. You will focus on providing research and analysis that impact acquisition, retention, and engagement for subscription products.

The Growth Marketing Operations Team plays a key role in enabling on-device communications and automated messaging for media products and services. The team focuses on the timely delivery, strategy, and execution of in-app messaging sent to millions of users across multiple services.
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 5+
TOP SKILLS:
- Experience with SQL and Python
- Within Python, helpful to have ML package experience, specifically with scikitlearn
- Fluent in SQL – Analyzing data sets. In a perfect world, they can build statistical models
- Experience working on Growth Marketing initiatives that drive customer acquisition, retention, and engagement
- Previous experience in a marketing-focused analytics or data science role.
- Proven experience working with large data sets (i.e. Terabytes or Petabytes – they should be able to take large data sets, and drive insights).
- The ability to condense complex concepts into clear and concise action items.
SOFT SKILLS:
- Excellent communication, social and presentation skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to execute and deliver tasks on time.
PLUS SKILLS:
- An understanding of Snowflake
- Experience working with A/B tests and growth marketing experiments, preferably for media products, mobile apps, and/or subscription media products.
EDUCATION: B.S. or M.S. in relevant field such as: Data Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, and/or Economics
BACKGROUND/INDSUTRY:
- Previous experience in a marketing-focused analytics
- Growth operations experience
- Experience working on consumer products that are tech based – i.e., mobile consumer app, or subscription application)
DAY TO DAY:
- Perform analysis, research, and actionable insight for Growth Marketing campaigns and journeys.
- Write SQL, Python, and/or scikitlearn scripts that query large-scale datasets
- Lead meetings to present findings to stakeholders and management.
- Partner with Product Managers, Engineering, and Data Science teams to help enable ML model integrations with customer journeys. Provide stakeholder support for PRD creation, technical documentation, experimentation, data validation, and QA.
- Work on syndicated reports and summaries for management.
- Help build out and maintain Tableau dashboards that track MarTech goals and performance.
- Partner with Growth Team stakeholders to provide suggestions for A/B testing and experimentation for concept briefs.
- Help with test setup and audience sizing for statistical significance.
- Have a deep understanding of MarTech datasets and data signals.
- Partner with data engineering and privacy teams to support new dataset requests.
- Regularly create and maintain documentation and code in Github.
- Create repeatable processes that help automate reporting and data validation.
- Participate and contribute to daily/weekly planning meetings. Help contribute and maintain the team’s Kanban project board.
