The Second Line Data Risk Senior Analyst will play a crucial role in the oversight of data governance frameworks, policies, and standards within Huntington. This position involves working closely with internal partners in Audit, Compliance, Risk, and Legal to provide effective challenge of the development, implementation, and enforcement of robust data policies and controls. The candidate will collaborate with the Chief Data Architecture Office to review requirements, document processes, and design technology and processes for effective data governance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides technical expertise in the data management IT risk domain, will represent 2nd line in relevant forums/working groups, and assists with production of the aggregate sub-assessment for those areas in support of quarterly assessments.
- Provides input on IT Risk strategy for area(s) of expertise. Creates and maintains 2nd line procedures and processes; will have ownership of executing one or more regular processes within 2nd line.
- Governance and oversight of data frameworks, rules, and localized requirements defined in the Data Governance Policy.
- Evaluate the technology and processes for enforcing data rules, ensuring alignment with the Data Governance framework.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of a process and repository for documenting governance best practices.
- Engage with subject/domain owners to provide effective challenge of strategy, decisions, roadmaps, tools/solutions, policies/standards, findings/action plans/risk acceptances, etc.
- Track and monitor the implementation of data controls across the organization.
- Assist in the development and design of risk metrics for monitoring and tracking adherence to the Data Governance Policy.
- Anticipate and analyze technology trends while assessing their impact on the Data Governance framework.
- Provides counsel as needed to partners in front/1st/2nd/3rd line functions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- 3+ years of related experience
- Experience in developing and implementing data governance frameworks, policies, and standards.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to appropriately measure Data Risk.
- Industry certification such as CRISC, Security+, CISA, or similar is required; if the colleague does not possess a certification, they will be expected to attain certification within 12 months of assuming this role.
Preferred Qualifications:
- History of developing and monitoring efficient processes for solving diverse and complex data problems.
- Experience in performing data maturity assessments.
- Risk management, regulatory, compliance, and/or audit experience.
- Ability to constructively challenge requirements and current state to increase overall value to the organization.
- Excellent executive communication and business writing skills.
