The Opportunity
As a dedicated Data & Reporting Analyst Lead, you will be responsible for partnering with Enterprise Compliance & Operational Risk Testing (ECORT) teams to gather business requirements and build data sets to support execution of the annual test plan. You will use your data analysis/problem solving skills and ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders to develop a deep understanding of testing data requirements, identify and build relevant data sets, make data-driven decisions, and adapt to changing business needs.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC, or Tampa, FL. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
What you'll do:
- Facilitates business projects of the highest complexity, size and visibility ensuring partners champion decision making data needs.
- Leads or directs the design, development and implementation and provides oversight of the maintenance of highly complex and often unique business solutions, which may include data, reporting, business intelligence or analytics.
- Applies a comprehensive understanding of multiple data structures and sources (possesses an authoritative knowledge of multiple data stores) to Lead or direct highly complex and unique data manipulation using expert data extraction and analytical tools and techniques.
- Applies a well-rounded understanding of the business operations and analytics to influence business strategies and solutions.
- Leads or directs the development of innovative approaches to address complex or unique business problems and solutions.
- Coordinates inputs from multiple sources, synthesizes data / information and creates qualitative commentary collecting key messages.
- Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
- Responsible for ensuring data governance operating principles are followed and yield efficient and accurate reporting of COSA data for consumption by the Enterprise.
What you have:
- Bachelor’s degree: OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required, 12 years total) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- 8 years of experience in data analysis/extraction, statistics, data management, analytics and/or data reporting.
- Extensive experience developing business deliverables that leverage business intelligence platforms, data management platforms, or SQL-based languages (Snowflake, SAS, and Tableau).
- Experience in identifying multiple sources of data and redefining data into reports to tell the story and tailor presentations as need for audience and purpose.
- Solid communication at all levels of the organization (up to executive leadership) with proven ability to influence decision-makers.
- Knowledge of creating reports for presentation to Sr. Leadership, Board of Directors, Committees, etc.
- Comprehensive understanding of compliance, risk management, and data security frameworks.
What sets you apart:
- Experience building Bank data sets across any of the lines of defense (FLOD, SLOD & TLOD) at USAA (Deposits, Consumer Loans, Credit Cards, Real Estate, MDS/Omnichannel, Marketing & Fraud).
- Experience implementing operational improvements (automation / automated testing).
- Working knowledge of Compliance Testing / Risk Management disciplines.

What we offer:
Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $120,550 - $230,400.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
