Description

Foundation for Blind Children is currently hiring for a full time Data & Records Technician as part of our Braille Production Team! This position is 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. We offer health insurance, life and disability insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, retirement plan, and more! 

 

The role of the Data & Records Technician is to manage cataloging and ordering for new braille book transcription requests.  This includes maintaining accurate catalog entries, directing the workflow to braille transcribers, receiving and processing digital book files, and general office duties.

 

Job duties include: 

  • Maintenance of database entries to the library catalog
  • Issue orders to transcribers for new book transcriptions
  • Ship supplies and materials to transcribers
  • Process incoming files from transcribers
  • Monitor due dates and document files received
  • Perform quality control checks on incoming files
  • Assist with braille document production, binding, and shipping
  • Support coworkers by assisting with order fulfillment
  • Complete other general administrative support duties as assigned
  • Maintain regular attendance according to the assigned work schedule.

Qualifications
  • Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by Arizona Department of Public Safety or the ability to obtain within 90 days of employment
  • Must be friendly, approachable and motivated
  • Willingness to pursue braille certification (on-the-job training and support provided) 
  • Knowledge of productivity software (MS Office, Teams, and Google) and good computer skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
