About the Role: We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to support Fabrics pursuit to increase organizational scalability of commercial operation through improved access to data for effective decision making. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the systems that collect, process, and store large volumes of data with a focus on creating the data infrastructure required to manage and analyze large volumes of data.
This position offers multiple work arrangements: on-site at our facility in Elkton, Maryland, hybrid, or fully remote work allowed in most locations within the United States, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain data pipelines to extract, transform & load (ETL) or extract, load & transform (ELT) data from Azure Modern Data Estate into analytics applications (Power BI, JMP, etc...) .
- Implement data structures to support the movement & analysis of different data types and partner with Data Analyst/BI developer to produce the design
- Develop Fabrics specific data hubs within the Azure Lakehouse environment to meet business needs
- Leverage the Data Engineering toolkit agreed upon by IT Architecture different technologies for developing and maintaining data pipelines
- Implement data security measures to protect sensitive data
- Partner with other team members for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of the data stored in the systems they maintain
- Collaborate with other teams (integrations, data/platform teams etc.) and consumers (data scientists, data analysts, business analysts, etc.) to ensure that data is easily accessible and available
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with data pipelines and other data infrastructure
- Participate in a Data Engineering community of practice to share learnings and leverage best practices for how to carry out Data Engineering work
- Develop business and functional subject matter expertise to support data-driven approaches to business needs
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of combined experience working on strategic projects focused on business intelligence, data warehousing, data management, and/or data analysis
- Minimum 8 years of experience in data modeling, data profiling, data cleansing, data transformation, and data architecture
- Experience working in a formal change management environment recording and documenting data pipeline changes
- Knowledgeable in industry best practice data literacy concepts and data security to ensure that the systems they create are scalable, reliable, and secure
- Proficiency with data orchestration, automation, and continuous integration
- Evidence of robust practices for data & analytics documentation disciplines
- Demonstrated ability to visualize the big picture and to set a course for and deliver realization with good project management practices
- Ability to facilitate discussions and influence alignment for global approach to data and analytics across many different stakeholder groups resulting in measurable, business value outcomes
- Ability to acquire new skills quickly and quickly thrive in a collaborative team environment
- Ability to travel up to 5% of the time
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
- Experience with Azure, Oracle, Python, SQL, and/or GIT code repository
- Knowledge of ERP, MES, PLM business processes and data
