Accountabilities
- Analyzes, architects, and engineers data pipelines and integration activities to support analytical data products and the overall Data Platform.
- Interfaces with business customers to bridge the gap between business needs and technology solutions throughout the analytics product lifecycle
- Supports Clinical, BI, Finance, Accounting, and Care management teams by providing robust data solutions
Role and Responsibilities:
- Participates in various Data Engineering activities, including pipeline design, data ingestion, integration, cleansing, mapping, store architecture, transformation, tuning, testing, and data quality.
- Contributes to the expansion of the platform through data flow development, workload management, requirement gathering, data architecture/structures/schemas, orchestration, and metadata/lineage.
- Collaborates with senior Data Engineers, Business Intelligence developers, and analysts to design scalable data pipelines and architectures for reports, dashboards, and advanced analytics products.
- Align data architectures with business requirements and building data pipelines that interface well with on-premise systems/applications and modern data sources (APIs, web data sources, real-time/streaming, unstructured data, etc.).
- Build in-depth knowledge across subject areas and capture documentation for end-to-end data flows/lineage.
- Possesses excellent analytical skills and a track record of conveying complex data concepts effectively for storytelling and influencing decision-making..
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems (MIS), Business or related/relevant degree AND minimum of 2 years of experience as a Data Engineer, Integration Developer, Database Developer, BI Developer, Software Engineer, Programmer, Technical or Systems Analysts, and/or Database Administrator preferred
- OR Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Data Engineer, Database Developer, BI Developer, ETL/ELT Developer, Software Engineer, Programmer, Technical or Systems Analysts, and/or Database Administrator preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Information Technology required.
- Demonstrated experience in SQL coding, data integration, data modeling (relational and/or data warehouse context), data pipeline and ETL/ELT design and development.
- Data warehouse experience including end to end data warehousing methodology, relational and dimensional design/modeling, architecture, implementation, security, and support/maintenance.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server platforms and Microsoft BI stack (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Power BI).
- Ability to perform troubleshooting on SQL Server, Windows Server, IIS, etc.
- Coding proficiency in at least one modern programing language (Python, C#, Java, Spark, etc.) preferred.
- Experience with modern data ingestion and transformation technologies such as Matillion, ADF, Talend, dbt, etc as well as traditional data integration/management tools such as SSIS, Informatica, etc.
- Familiarity with modern cloud-based data platforms, data lake/data warehouse technologies such as Snowflake, Azure Synapse, AWS, Redshift, etc. preferred.
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
- Experience with Agile, Jira, Azure DevOps delivery methodologies
- Experience with Version control, Git preferred,
- Comfortable with ambiguity, experimentation, and rapid iteration.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience working with healthcare specific applications and data systems (Electronic Health Record, Payer data, pharmacy systems, etc.), business systems (ERP, CRM, etc.) and digital platforms preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Health Care environment preferred.
- Azure certification(s) a plus and may be required upon hire or within six months of hire date based on the primary responsibilities/focus of the role.
- Microsoft certification(s) and/or Snowflake a plus.
- Other relevant Data Engineering certification(s) a plus.
