Data Center Technician (Entry Level)
Pomeroy Technologies has an immediate need for an Data Center Technician ( Entry Level) in our Orlando, FL location.
This position is a Full Time Benefited position.

Monday – Friday 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Rotational On Call Schedule
Pay dependent upon relevant experience.
Job Requirements
The individual selected for this position will be responsible for performing basic Computer Operator duties per documented processes and procedures. These tasks include but are not limited to media operations mounting/demounting of media, performing system commands, assisting customers via phone and email, interacting with hardware including placing service requests using ServiceNow. The selected applicants will also be responsible to performing routine site checks and reporting any problems or issues.
The ideal applicant will access to a dependable and insured vehicle.
The ideal applicant will have strong computer skills, knowledge of tape operations is a plus.
Data center operations experience is strongly preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities
The individual hired to fill this position will be responsible for performing the following tasks:
• Execute basic computer operator commands and report any problems to the site supervisor.
• Provide assistance to all operations personnel to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction is maintained.
• Understand all mount/system messages.
• Monitor scratch pools and pending tape mount messages.
• Recognize minor to moderate hardware malfunctions and be able to resolve most issues under the direction/supervision of senior personnel. Understand and use communication and work tools (telephone, email, rolling tools, fax, customer training tools, other customer specific work tools, etc.)
• Launch a detailed search for misclassified media if necessary. Use appropriate work tools available to provide resolution.
• Provide constructive feedback on shift rotation to management and teammates.
• Keep abreast of all proceedings and provide feedback as needed.
• Perform floor sweeps for media as needed, which may include searching under/over equipment, under raised floor slabs, etc.
