Job Title: Data Center Technician

Job Overview:
As a Data Center Technician, you will play a critical role in the maintenance, operation, and optimization of our organization's Data Center infrastructure. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of Data Center operations, including hardware installations, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance. This role requires a keen attention to detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Hardware Installation and Maintenance:
• Install, configure, and maintain server hardware, storage devices, and network equipment within the Data Center.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and network-related issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address complex technical problems and implement effective solutions.
• Cable Management:
• Manage and organize cabling infrastructure to ensure neatness, accessibility, and adherence to industry standards.
• Implement and document cable routes, connections, and labeling.
• Security and Compliance:
• Enforce security protocols and access controls to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
• Conduct regular security audits and implement corrective measures as needed.
• Capacity Planning:
• Monitor Data Center resources and contribute to capacity planning efforts.
• Identify potential bottlenecks and make recommendations for upgrades to support future growth.
• Documentation:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all Data Center processes, configurations, and procedures.
• Create and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for routine tasks and troubleshooting steps.
• Emergency Response:
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond promptly to emergency situations, such as power outages or equipment failures.
• Collaborate with external vendors and support teams to resolve critical issues.
• Collaboration:
• Work closely with network engineers, system administrators, and other IT professionals to ensure seamless Data Center operations.
• Participate in cross-functional projects related to Data Center expansion and upgrades.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Data Center Technician or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of Data Center operations, hardware installations, and cable management.
• Familiarity with networking concepts, protocols, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to lift and move heavy equipment as needed.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing technical challenges.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
