Pay Range: $20.44 - $25.55/hr.

Workdays & Hours: Part Time, In-Office, Flexible schedule available work hours for the program are between Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm (in-office).

A Part-time Administrative Technician - Weatherization Program (overage) job is available with the City of Fort Worth Neighborhood Services Department at Hazel Harvey Peace Center for Neighborhoods. The Weatherization program within Neighborhood Services provides home improvements to low-income households that reduces energy usage and increases energy efficiency of homes. This position will contribute to the City's strategic goals, mission and vision by providing routine clerical and administrative support to the daily operations of the City's Weatherization Program and will perform a variety of routine computer software and administrative tasks for staff and management personnel within the program. This position is an overage position that is currently planned to extend only to June 2025, based upon federal grant funding.
This is a grant funded overage position that will extend only to June 2025 unless additional grant funds are received.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Finance, Office Administration or a related field
  • Two (2) years of clerical and administrative experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with construction or home improvement companies
  • Experience working with computer-based software applications
  • Experience providing customer service to program applicants

The Administrative Technician job responsibilities include:
  • Provides administrative assistance to staff by preparing documents, scheduling meetings, and screening clients and phone calls
  • Maintains appointment calendars and schedules inspections
  • Provides service to internal and external customers by answering inquiries, resolving complaints or directing caller to appropriate department or personnel
  • Evaluates and reviews customer applications, documents, files and records to determine eligibility or status for various City services
  • Tracks applicants and their cases through software, provides reporting and data to ensure compliance with grant reporting requirements
  • Maintains records and application data
  • Provides administrative support by verifying costs for various items, gathering data, and entering data into City systems
  • Renews department licenses, certificates, permits and other required documentation
  • Process requisitions and purchases materials and supplies to maintain inventory;
  • Participates in special projects, providing input as needed
  • Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing, with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to maintain a strict level of confidentiality
