Data Center Technical Operations Engineer I - Ashburn, VA

New Journey, a Genesis10 company, is seeking a resource for a 6 month contract position with potential extension or conversion.
The Data Center Technical Operations Engineer will be responsible for Data Center Engineering Operations within a Data Center including risk management and mitigation, corrective and preventative maintenance of critical infrastructure, vendor management, and metric reporting.
Responsibilities:

• Assist in troubleshooting of facility and rack-level events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA).
• Perform rack installs, rack decommissioning, operational readings and facility management.
• Provide key performance indicators to senior engineers.
• Responsible for the on-site management of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring that all work performed is in accordance with established practices, procedures & local legislation.
• Monitor performance of maintenance and operations on all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the Data Center.
• Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work.
• Assist with basic support concepts such as ticketing systems, root cause analysis, change management creation, writing procedures and building management systems.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or Technical (Military/ Trade School) Degree and relevant experience
• Fundamental knowledge of network design and layout as well as low voltage (copper/ fiber) cabling
• Electrical and mechanical background
• 2+ years Mechanical and/or Electrical Operations experience
• 2+ years of Data Center Engineering Experience
• Building management experience
• Familiar with and Utilize building management systems
• Experience with ticket ques
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong leadership and organizational skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize in complex, fast-paced environment
• Able to lift/ move up to 40 pounds independently and able to balance and perform construction tasks.

Compensation: $38.00 per hour
