National Public Opinion Research firm seeks Data Associate.

Data Associate
We are currently seeking Data Associates, an entry level role that assists with data processing, analysis and reporting for quantitative market research projects. The Data Associate will work with hundreds of primary datasets and learn statistical processes in R. Responsibilities include using R to clean, process and troubleshoot data sets during data collection; as well as analyze data and produce data reports and deliverables. Additional tasks will include quality control checks of research products and assisting with mapping and data visualization.
Thisfull-time, non-exempt (hourly) position provides a flexible schedule that includes some evening and weekend hours; the general expectation is that normal working hours for this position are 9am to 5pm EASTERN TIME ZONE. The position is open to all applicants in the U.S. EMC Research has offices in Oakland, CA; Seattle, WA; and Washington, D.C. and at this time, staff is able to work from home remotely. More than 40% of our staff is fully remote and located all over the country.
This entry level position requires a self-motivated, data-focused problem solver who is interested in social behavior, public opinion and politics, and can thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Compensation: $25/hour minimum adjusted to reflect experience and cost of living. Under our EMC Research Great Careers plan, we provide full pay transparency and a clear path to compensation growth. Each position has a base salary adjusted upward to recognize experience, cost of living, and any additional responsibilities like employee supervision. Minimum Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree with strong quantitative skills or 2-3 years related experience and/or training
-High level of attention to detail
-Deadline driven and able to produce high-quality work within short timelines
-Experience using statistical software for data management and data analysis, including R, SPSS, SAS, Stata, or Python
-Excellent written and verbal communication
-Proficient with Microsoft Office products, particularly Word, PowerPoint and Excel
-Basic knowledge of statistics and quantitative research
Additional Desired Skills and Experience:
-Foundation in research design and analysis
-Experience with survey data
-Visualizing data for presentations or reports
-Knowledge or experience with multivariate regression, distributions, sampling, probability, correlation, significance, or weighting
-Mapping skills, either in GIS, QGIS, or R
-Interest in public policy, politics, campaigns or non-profit advocacy
