Department: Ascension Data Science Institute- Schedule: Full time

We are hiring a Data Analyst on the Population Health Management team with the Ascension Data Science Institute (ADSI). Our goal is to provide Ascension leadership with the analytics and strategic support needed to manage patient populations across markets and ministries, with a specific focus on Ascension Insured and Value Based Care populations. We measure patient outcomes and program performance in order to help Ascension sustain and improve patient outcomes and reduce cost, so we can continue providing quality care to the poor and vulnerable.
In this role you will maintain, troubleshoot, and build data sets and visualizations to support regular and ad-hoc reporting. Much of the work will be supporting Ascension Care Management, measuring program operations and patient outcomes. Other areas of focus are creating and maintaining patient registries and developing ROI analyses for various programs. You will work primarily in Google BigQuery and Tableau.
- Develop and troubleshoot queries in BigQuery to support regular and ad-hoc reporting
- Maintain and help build the Tableau dashboards that enable stakeholders to make strategic decisions
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders pop health related analyses
- Coordinate across functional and data teams to ensure consistency and optimization of the overall work product. Suggest solutions, improvements, and efficiencies in data quality and management
- Translate business requirements into actionable reports
- May provide leadership, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff on how to access reports and interpret the data
- Identifies data trends and makes recommendations
- Remain curious and be willing to continue learning
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred in the area of Healthcare Data Sciences, Computer Science, Math, Statistics, or other technical field that provides a solid basis for analytics
- Three years of experience in analytics preferred
- Experience with SQL or BigQuery. Working knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Tableau is a plus
- Proficiency with data extraction, manipulation, and interpretation using multiple data sources
- Preferred – experience with healthcare data
