Data Analyst

Role and Responsibilities

The Data Analyst will gather, analyze, test and compile data needed to identify trends and patterns, then make recommendations for business actions or data quality controls.

• Use automated tools to extract data from primary and secondary sources
• Remove corrupted data and fixing coding errors and related problems
• Develop and maintain databases, data systems – reorganizing data in a readable format
• Perform analysis to assess quality and meaning of data
• Filter Data by reviewing reports and performance indicators to identify and correct code problems
• Using statistical tools to identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends in complex data sets that could be helpful for the diagnosis and prediction
• Assign numerical value to essential business functions so that business performance can be assessed and compared over periods of time.
• Analyze local, national, and global trends that impact both the organization and the industry
• Prepare reports for management stating trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data
• Work with programmers, engineers, and management to identify process improvement opportunities, propose system modifications, and devise data governance strategies.
• Prepare final analysis reports for the stakeholders to understand the data-analysis steps, enabling them to take important decisions based on various facts and trends.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, statistics, applied math or related field required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• At least two years’ experience with SQL, and scripting languages (Python or R) required.
• Extensive background in export, transform and load processes preferred.
• Experience working with dynamic dashboarding technologies (Tableau, Power BI) preferred.

Skills and Abilities

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Proficient in ETL processes
• Proficient in SQL, Scripting Language (Python, R), and Dashboarding Tools (Power BI, Tableau)
• Ability to collect and compile relevant data.
• Extremely organized with great attention to detail.
• Excellent ability to analyze information and think systematically.
