The Young Americans College of the Performing Arts, established in 1962, is a renowned

Position: Dance Instructor
Role and Duties:
- Develop and deliver a comprehensive dance curriculum spanning various styles and techniques suitable for students at different levels of proficiency.
- Conduct practical dance classes and workshops, ensuring a balance between technique, performance, and theoretical understanding.
- Assess and evaluate student performances, providing constructive feedback for
improvement.
- Collaborate with other faculty members in interdisciplinary projects, performances, and showcases.
- Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Mentor and advise students on their academic progress and career aspirations in the performing arts.
- Stay updated with current trends and advancements in dance and incorporate relevant elements into teaching and choreography.
- Organize and participate in college events, performances, and community outreach programs.
Required Experience and Educational Background:
- A Master’s degree in Dance, Performing Arts, or a related field. Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree and exceptional professional experience in dance may also be considered.
- A minimum of three years of teaching experience in dance at the post-secondary level or significant professional experience as a dancer or choreographer.
- Demonstrable expertise in a variety of dance styles, including but not limited to ballet, contemporary, jazz, hip-hop, and tap.
- Experience in choreographing and directing dance performances.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment.
- Familiarity with digital tools and technologies used in modern dance instruction is an advantage.
Salary: $35.00 - $65.00 Per Hour (DOE)
