The Cybersecurity Engineer plans, implements, manages, monitors, evaluates, and upgrades security measures to protect the district's data, systems, and network. They provide guidance and information on cybersecurity strategies to department and district leadership. They research, plan, design, and evaluate security controls to mitigate risks and balance security with operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree is preferred (Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity or
related discipline, ideally)
Experience:
3+ years experience in enterprise Information Technology / networked environments
3+ years information security systems analysis, network security, or security auditing
preferred
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment preferred
Certificates/Licenses/Registrations:
Preferred CompTIA Network+, Security+ minimum or equivalent
Preferred (ISC)2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or ISACA Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) or GIAC Security Leadership (GSLC) or another equivalent (CompTIA CySA+, CSAP, etc.) preferred
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Salary Schedule: $70,000-$93,000
