The Security Analyst I role at Nouria Energy is responsible for reviewing security alerts, utilizing Cybersecurity tools, and bringing alerts to conclusions. The Security Analyst I will review alerts, determine if they’re true positives or false positives to add to the baseline or respond to actual attacks. The Security Analyst I is also responsible for ensuring high fidelity in report findings in the ticketing system and providing input to the modification of controls and procedures.
As a Security Analyst I, you will work closely with other departments to conduct needs analyses to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support security analytics solutions that deliver essential information to various teams. Analytics include but are not limited to account creation trends, patching and threat-hunting analysis.
Responsibilities
- Provide long-term strategic goals for Cybersecurity development in conjunction with end users, managers, and other departments.
- Provide technical support as necessary during an incident.
- Triage security alerts in ticketing system, analyze activity, and bringing items to conclusion
- Implement and maintain security measures: Utilize required standards and procedures to implement effective security measures that safeguard our systems, networks, and information.
- Technical security document management: Review and update technical security documents, ensuring accurate reporting to security leadership. Identify areas for improvement and assist in implementing system-wide security controls, standards, procedures, and guidelines.
- Security requirement analysis: Review and analyze reports and alerts generated by various tools and processes to recommend, plan, assess, and implement necessary security requirements and patches.
- Configuration baseline management: Assist in documenting security baselines using accepted configuration guidelines (IRS SCSEM, CIS). Identify changes to established security configuration baselines, coordinate implementation, and document changes effectively.
- Compliance monitoring and reporting: Regularly review and assess IT component configuration, comparing it to the hardware/software inventory and required configuration baselines. Report any gaps or compliance deficiencies promptly.
- Project security support: Provide security support for application and infrastructure-related projects. Resolve problems and assist in handling security incidents.
Position Requirements
- Cummulative 2-3 years of paid work experence in the field.
- Strong understanding of computer networking, ports, protocols, and services
- Understanding of DNS, DHCP, and Wireless communications.
- Ability to break down and interpret process trees.
- Understanding of Windows API calls, DLLs
- Strong presentation, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
- Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Experience within the convenience and retail fuel industry is a plus.
- Highly self-motivated and self-directed.
