As a Documentation Coordinator, you will be responsible for creating and filing documentation for a high-volume of US Customs Entries. You will provide local support to our Entry Writers and other business units in the organization. This is a great entry-level opportunity to get your foot in the door of the logistics and freight forwarding industry!
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year experience in an Administrative Assistant/Clerical-type role required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel.
- Excellent Data Entry skills.
- Experience in Customs Brokerage; including classifying and scheduling cargo with US Customs is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency with the General Rules of Interpretation, HTSUSA, and binding rulings preferred but not required.
- Proficiency with valuation and classification from commercial documentation preferred but not required.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and sort incoming shipment and customs documents from various sources.
- Open files in the ABI system, prioritize shipments accordingly, and follow-up with appropriate measures.
- Format, upload, and file appropriate customs documentation.
- Enter shipment and billing data into CargoWise One operational system.
- Respond to internal and external customs requests.
- Assist with payment requests and customer billing as needed.
- Coordinate with Entry Writers, Brokerage Manager, Customer Service and Operations as needed.
- Report daily workflow.
Salary:
- $20-$24/hour dependent on transferable experience and education level.
