We are currently recruiting for: Customer Service Representative- Front Desk Personnel
The Customer Service Representative/ Front Desk Registration role is responsible for the ability to provide quality and effective Customer Service to the patient population here at Newark Community Health Centers. The incumbents in this job have routine access to individually identifiable health information including the patients’ entire medical records on a need-to-know basis only.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Essential duties/responsibilities include the following as well as other duties that may be assigned:
- Must be able to read, write and speak in English in addition to another language preferrably Spanish/French/Haitian Creole
- Answers telephones, directs calls and takes messages.
- Determines nature of patients’ visits for appropriate processes.
- Schedules appointments and maintains appointment calendars for providers.
- Registers new patients obtaining the required information and documentation.
- Explains Health Center policy including payment of accounts and determines fee for service based on sliding fee schedule.
- Disseminates information to patients, staff and others as appropriate.
- Ensures completion and validation of all patients’ forms and documents including regular updates of information.
- Performs check in, cancellations and rescheduling of patients’ appointments.
- Creates and maintains electronic patient records including the assignment of chart numbers.
- Collects, documents and disburses revenue from patients including credit.
- Maintains and reconciles an accurate cash drawer daily.
- Enrolls patients in Letter of Agreement (LOA) and Presumptive Eligibility for Medicaid for women and children.
- Directs patients to appropriate services.
- Immediately alerts nurse manager or designee for triage of any patient who presents in crisis.
