Job Summary:
As a Customer Service Representative at Halter Materials & Landscape Supply, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to customers, assisting them in selecting the right landscaping materials, and ensuring a positive experience throughout their visit. This role involves effective communication, product knowledge, and problem-solving skills to meet customer needs and maintain a smooth operation at the yard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Interaction:
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Provide information on landscaping materials, pricing, and product specifications.
- Answer inquiries, address concerns, and offer expert advice on suitable products for various landscaping projects.
- Order Processing:
- Process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials.
- Maintain records of customer transactions and interactions.
- Product Knowledge:
- Develop a thorough understanding of the landscaping materials available.
- Stay updated on new products, promotions, and industry trends.
- Educate customers on proper usage and maintenance of materials.
- Problem Resolution:
- Address and resolve customer complaints or concerns promptly and professionally.
- Collaborate with management to find solutions for escalated issues.
- Assist in Yard Operations:
- Coordinate with yard staff to ensure product availability and maintain a well-organized yard.
- Assist in maintaining inventory levels and restocking as needed.
- Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe environment for both customers and staff.
- Provide customers with safety information related to the handling of materials.
- Communication:
- Collaborate with colleagues and management to share customer feedback and suggest improvements.
- Effectively communicate promotions, sales, and company policies to customers.
- Teamwork:
- Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve common goals.
- Provide backup support to other areas of the yard as needed.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in Customer Service, preferably in a similar industry.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of landscaping materials and their applications is a plus.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items 50 lbs and above..
- Basic computer skills for order processing and record-keeping.
