Job Summary:

As a Customer Service Representative at Halter Materials & Landscape Supply, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to customers, assisting them in selecting the right landscaping materials, and ensuring a positive experience throughout their visit. This role involves effective communication, product knowledge, and problem-solving skills to meet customer needs and maintain a smooth operation at the yard.

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Interaction:
  • Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Provide information on landscaping materials, pricing, and product specifications.
  • Answer inquiries, address concerns, and offer expert advice on suitable products for various landscaping projects.
• Order Processing:
  • Process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials.
  • Maintain records of customer transactions and interactions.
• Product Knowledge:
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the landscaping materials available.
  • Stay updated on new products, promotions, and industry trends.
  • Educate customers on proper usage and maintenance of materials.
• Problem Resolution:
  • Address and resolve customer complaints or concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with management to find solutions for escalated issues.
• Assist in Yard Operations:
  • Coordinate with yard staff to ensure product availability and maintain a well-organized yard.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory levels and restocking as needed.
• Safety Compliance:
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe environment for both customers and staff.
  • Provide customers with safety information related to the handling of materials.
• Communication:
  • Collaborate with colleagues and management to share customer feedback and suggest improvements.
  • Effectively communicate promotions, sales, and company policies to customers.
• Teamwork:
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve common goals.
  • Provide backup support to other areas of the yard as needed.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience in Customer Service, preferably in a similar industry.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of landscaping materials and their applications is a plus.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy items 50 lbs and above..
• Basic computer skills for order processing and record-keeping.
