SUMMARY:
Under the direct supervisor of the Business Services Director, this position provides general administrative support to the agency utilizing general knowledge of health and human services terminology and processes. Duties include scheduling appointments, conferring with clients, and compiling and recording information for client charts, reports, and outgoing correspondence. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Duties: These duties represent the typical duties and responsibilities assigned to this position but may not be inclusive of all tasks performed.
- Responsible for comprehensive knowledge of department responsibilities and division programs in order to answer general internal and external customer questions; ascertain the appropriate contact within the department or county, or refer to an outside source in an efficient, professional manner.
- Uses various computer programs and software equipment specific to County and State.
- Performs general Customer Service duties including gathering of client demographic, insurance information, and necessary agency processing paperwork.
- Serve as receptionist in a professional and courteous manner.
- Receive, prioritize and disseminate information to proper person or unit.
- Provides general administrative and clerical support services to the agency.
- Maintain clean and organized reception and resource areas.
- Participate as a team member of the Department to improve office efficiency and cooperatively solve problems.
- Adheres to the Department's policy of confidentiality and fulfills the department's mission and purpose.

Education/Experience:
- Requires a high school diploma/GED/HED
- Associate's Degree in Administrative Assistant, Accounting or related field preferred and/or one to two years' experience in a related position or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Demonstrated ability to work with a computerized data system and to understand and use various computer applications; must be proficient in keyboarding and ten-key applications. Must have applicable experience utilizing office equipment such as PCs, calculators, copy machines, and fax machines.
