Propel Swim Academy is a locally owned and operated family business in South Riding, Virginia. We teach swim lessons to over 1700 children every week, serving over 1,000 unique families! We operate in our privately owned 13,000 sq. ft. facility which is home to 3 pools; each pool is custom built to accommodate swimmers of all ages and abilities. Propel is a growing business with plans to open a second facility within the next 3 years. We are hiring a leader for our Sales & Service department to continue providing a memorable customer experience. We’re looking for an enthusiastic, fun-loving, growth oriented individual with prior management experience to join our team and contribute to our mission of enriching the lives of our swimmers, team, and families.
Roles & Responsibilities:
People: Lead, manage, and hold accountable all Sales & Service department team members. This is done by working alongside the team, evaluating performance, 1 on 1 meetings, Quarterly Conversations, and ongoing training. The Sales & Service department currently has 4 employees; we are a growing company, and when necessary the Sales & Service Leader will be responsible for the training of new team members.
Process: Maintain and update Sales & Service processes. Ensure all processes are followed by all through training, measurement, and management. Plan and conduct regular departmental training sessions and individual coaching sessions as needed.
Projects: Lead completion of quarterly projects aimed at improving departmental and company performance.
Cross-Departmental: Collaborate with other Department Leaders to solve issues, implement changes, and collectively meet targets.
Customer Experience: Serve and build relationships with customers in person during shifts. Shift work is active and busy! The leader’s job is to create an incredible experience for all customers by ensuring they and the team adhere to Propel’s service standards!
Sales: A strong sales mindset is required to meet the company’s student enrollment goals. Enrollment goals are achieved by upselling and retaining current customers and by marketing and selling our programs to new customers.
Professional Development: As a member of the Leadership team, the Sales and Service Leader is responsible for growth and learning. Initially, there are 1-3 short books that are required reading of a Leadership Team member, necessary in order to learn our business operating system. On an ongoing basis, there will be professional development opportunities such as leadership courses, books, and industry conferences that the Sales and Service leader will be expected to attend.
Technology Requirements: Able to work quickly and efficiently within our CRM, iClassPro, and google sheets/excel, docs, etc.
Other Requirements: As a member of the Leadership team, the Sales and Service Department Leader is required to attend full-day strategic planning sessions (1 per quarter) and a two-day annual planning session (1 per year). All planning sessions are held outside of normal working hours.

What previous work experience would benefit you in this position?
  • Leadership/management in a retail, children’s recreation, or hospitality environment.
  • In-person Customer Service roles serving families.
  • Leadership/management of small, diverse teams.
  • Planning and achievement of goals in sales and Customer Service.
Work From Home:
Limited opportunities to work from home will be available when working on projects or other administrative work. Candidates should expect to work full time on-site for the first 3-6 months of employment.
Deal-Breakers:
  • Are you able to work 2-3 shifts in the afternoon/evening (approx. 3:00-7:30pm) and 1 weekend morning shift (appox. 8:00am-1:00pm)?
  • Do you have at least 2 years of experience in leading and managing teams?
Salary & Benefits:
  • Salary $55,000-$65,000 based on experience
