Custodian, Part-time Evenings

Reports to: Facility Manager
The primary function of this position is to assist in maintaining the parish and school property and facilities ensuring a safe, clean, and secure environment.
General Duties:
- Ensure the facility is open and available based on the daily schedule.
- Perform nightly job duties in parish and school facilities, including floors, bathrooms, classrooms and common areas.
- Respond to immediate needs based on specific situations that arise or result from events taking place at the facility.
- Assist in grounds maintenance as needed.
- Ensure facility is locked and secure at the end of the night shift
- Maintains a neat and orderly janitors’ room; ensures cleaning and maintenance supplies are stocked.
- Brings any safety hazards or items in need of repair to the attention of the facility manager.
- Other seasonal or specific projects as needed.
Required Skill/Abilities:
- Promote a pleasant and cordial environment by being helpful and responsive to parishioners, students, staff, and guests.
- Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
- Detail-oriented and thorough.
- Work independently.
- Report promptly for scheduled shifts and call as early as possible if unable to report for work.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must pass a background check and drug test.
- Ability to perform physical tasks which include, lifting 50 lbs., standing, walking, kneeling, bending and using a ladder. Pre-employment physical will be required.
