Under the direction of the Manager of Buildings & Grounds and Operations Supervisor, in association with the building administrator, assists in maintaining the building in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
Responsibilities:
- Perform setups and teardown for programs; provide cleaning in locker rooms, gymnasium, restrooms, kitchen event areas, bathrooms, classrooms, etc.
- Setup and operate automatic scrubbing machines, rotary scrubbers/buffers, wet/dry vacuum cleaners, carpet extractor and shampooer.
- Machine scrub floors, spray buff floors, and shampoo carpets.
- Repair to furniture, including but not limited to minor equipment maintenance and repairs (scrubbers, vacuums, walk behind sweeper, etc).
- Able to safely and effectively secure the building.
- Operation of power mowers, snow blowers, and being able to do snow shoveling.
- Supervise and audit the building evening cleaning staff.
Required Experience or Training:
- Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
- Experience and training in the custodial-maintenance of a building, building safety and security, along with supervisory experience.
Desired Experience or Training:
- Work experience with custodial maintenance and set up duties.
- Ability to work on minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and hvac is a bonus.
Special Requirements of the Position:
- Must be able to lift a forty (40) pound weight overhead, unassisted.
- Able to work in cramped spaces or elevated positions (scaffold, extension ladders).
