The Custodial Services department within the Office of Physical Plant is seeking candidates for a Custodial Programs Supervisor position. This job is responsible for the oversight, development, and evaluation of Office of Physical Plant Custodial Programs, which includes:

The successful candidate will also be responsible for management of Custodial projects including new and existing construction. Duties include consulting with design professionals, project managers, construction representatives, and contractors. Successful candidate will oversee and manage custodial vacancies, overtime, and travel/training planning.

Education and experience:
Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Requires IICRC certification as CMT, SMT, FCT or industry equivalent (current or within two years of hire). Current IICRC certification is preferred.
Background check
Requires a valid driver`s license to operate licensed and unlicensed motor vehicles as required or assigned. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters. - Quality assurance
- Inventory management
- Equipment procurement and maintenance
- Pest management
- Safety programs

Successful candidate will oversee and manage custodial vacancies, overtime, and travel/training planning.
Other duties include:
- Develop budget for custodial equipment, vehicle assets, and custodial supplies program.
- Conduct training sessions and develop various instructional/training materials and programs, including computer based training.
- Develop and conduct employee skill evaluations. Participate in the resolution of performance issues.
- Develop, implement, and maintain computerized and information gathering systems and methods of analyzing data for scheduling of custodial operations.
- Serve as backup to Custodial Operations Manager and Custodial Shift Supervisors.
