Yakima Valley College seeks a Coordinator for Career and Technical Education Dual Credit and Outreach & Retention in the Workforce Education Division. This is a temporary project exempt position at $54,649 annual salary. Which includes full state benefits package. This position has an expected end date of June 30, 2024.
Reporting to the Director of Workforce Education the Coordinator for CTE Dual Credit and Outreach & Retention will perform a variety of tasks in support of the Workforce Division. The Coordinator will collaborate with K-12 and YVC faculty to document Dual Credit pathway opportunities to prepare students for advanced education and careers related to professional/technical occupations. The coordinator is the main point of contact for all CTE Dual Credit information and processes. In addition, this position will support several Outreach and Retention initiatives within the division. This includes, event planning for open houses, tours and presentations about Workforce Education programs, and representation at and planning of career and educational fairs. There are also special projects such as creating and implementing a short-term certificate auto application process for the college.
The Coordinator for CTE Dual Credit and WED Outreach & Retention will work in collaboration with college department staff, faculty, administrators, and community partners. Additionally, we are seeking a candidate who demonstrates a strong promise as a contributing member of the Workforce Education Division.
Essential Tasks
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education
  • Two years of previous experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Access)
  • Must possess a valid driver's license

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Over two years of combined work experience in K-12 or college systems
  • Experience working with multicultural populations
  • Proficiency working with survey and scheduling software for data analysis
  • Proficiency working with ctcLink, Smartsheet, Cognito, and PeopleSoft
  • Experience in customer relations, including Outreach and recruitment
  • Experience in maintaining program assessment data, generating aggregated data program reports

Qualifications
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
CTE Dual Credit 50%
  • Provide CTE and student/alumni support both remote and in-person to K-12 CTE Directors, teachers, faculty, alumni and students
  • Provides support to computer and/or voice system SERS users in person and via remote technologies
  • Manage CTE Dual Credit student registrations, records, reports and input grades through the Student Enrollment and Reporting System (SERS) and other system software
  • Makes preliminary identification of problems encountered by SERS users and achieve resolution
  • Performs simple SERS repairs/fixes using knowledgebase manuals and both on-site and remote
  • Perform SERS data entry and maintain data integrity
  • Articulation and inventory management and coordinate with SBCTC areas to ensure accurate programs of study data records
  • Conduct professional development activities for secondary and postsecondary personnel for CTE Dual credit
  • Represent Workforce division and CTE Dual Credit at the General Advisory Counsel
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve concerns and technical (SERS) issues
  • Comply with all college state and federal rules, policies, procedures, regulations and laws
  • Run end of year Dual Credit reports
Outreach 25%
  • Travel to outreach events throughout the service district for public speaking engagements, and represent YVC during the day, evening, and weekends; available to provide the same services remotely as appropriate to the audience being served.
  • Provide accurate information for prospective students based upon in-depth knowledge of Workforce Education programs and resources.
  • Cultivate working relationships with the service district's high school counselors and other external stakeholders regarding CTE Dual Credit and Workforce Education programs.
  • Represent Workforce Education at local college fairs, informational nights, community events, and high schools in response to specific invitations and opportunities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and facilitate welcoming, engaging, and inclusive campus tours and workshops for prospective students and their families, such as career fairs, open houses, and high school counselor symposium.
  • Maintain data regarding Outreach and Retention and assess quarterly the effectiveness of outreach, onboarding, and Retention; implement strategies for improvement
  • Create outreach documents in Cognito and Smartsheet, publish forms and applications online, and develop processes for the collection of data from the applications or forms.
  • Build automated response emails and notifications for CTE course applications that are approved by stakeholders.
Retention 25%
  • Research mentorship programs that support Workforce Education student populations i.e. non-traditional students
  • Develop a proposal for a mentorship program
  • Create and implement an auto application process for short-term certificates in CTC link
  • Run procedures for certificate creation
  • Document auto application process clearly for training purposes.
