Job Description:
Job Title – CT Technologist
Hospital Location – Jacksonville, FL
Shift Timing – Day Shift/ Evening Shift/ Night Shift
Pay Rate: ($45/Hr. - $57Hr.) on W2.
Duration - 13 Weeks Contract
CT Technologist Responsibilities:
- Using computerized tomography equipment to capture diagnostic images of patients’ internal organs and tissues.
- Appropriately positioning patients to scan specific areas of their bodies.
- Performing regular warm-up sequences on the CT scanner to prolong the life of the X-ray tubes.
- Sterilizing radiologic equipment to ensure the safety of patients.
- Correctly interpreting doctors' written scanning instructions.
- Administering radiocontrast agents to patients to enhance the visibility of internal organs and tissues.
- Evaluating CT scans to determine whether they are of good technical quality.
- Explaining scanning procedures to patients and providing reassurance and support as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Formal Education Required: a. Graduate of an A.M.A. approved school of Radiologic Technology and registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. b. Must be licensed as a Radiographer by the State of Ohio.
2. Experience & Training Required: a. One (1) year Radiology Technology experience preferred. b. CT Registry preferred.
3. Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications: a. Manual dexterity sufficient to calibrate and operate equipment, properly position patients, apply, and adjust restraining devices and administer intravenous injections of contrast. b. Ability to communicate verbally with patients, physicians, and other hospital employees. c. Ability to lift and position patients. d. Successful completion of training to perform other radiology procedures. e. Ability to utilize computer system and file system to facilitate patient records. f. Ability to initiate CPR and (CPR Certification). g. Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.
4. Level of Physical Demands: a. Heavy: Exerts 50-100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or ten to 20 pounds of force continuously to move objects.
