Job Summary:
The IT Technical Support Specialist is responsible for support of all information technology infrastructure systems including installation, security, maintenance and support of new and existing desktop computers, tablets, laptops and servers, and a variety of network devices such as hubs and switches. Daily problem resolution and problem escalation for CMP supported applications and related technical infrastructure. This includes client/server systems, specialized software applications, web application software, peripheral devices, copiers, mail equipment, phone systems, and others. In addition, this role performs technical consultations for hardware and software applications to employees.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, test, and deploy software and hardware upgrades to the desktop infrastructure at Crouse Medical Practice.
- Responsible for and administers external hosted software applications such as Crouse Citrix Portal, multiple diabetes software programs, Welch Allyn software applications, PACS Gear, CIMS, Labnet, and other software application systems.
- Work with vendors and IT support teams to install and upgrade desktop computers and all related software applications.
- Proactively monitors all desktops, applications and services using a combination of tools to ensure high availability.
- Work closely with the IT team to provide end-user support and issue resolution.
- Operates independently to accomplish necessary IT troubleshooting, upgrades, and problem resolution, including responding 24x7x365 as required during times of emergency.
- Provides support and coordinate vendor response for related IT systems including phones, mail equipment, copiers, etc. This included work outside normal business hours as necessary to complete scheduled and emergency maintenance or upgrades to ensure maximum uptime and reduce downtime for the organization.
- Participate in the development of standards and procedures for IT design and usage.
- Rigorously create and maintain documentation for all processes and procedures.
- Work independently and with higher level support to resolve customer problems.
- Maintain a neat, orderly and safe working environment.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging desktop tools and technologies.
- Installing, maintaining, patching and upgrading desktop and mobile computers up to the latest versions of operating system and all related software applications.
- Monitors desktop system performance and implements performance tuning.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Advanced training in computer science, computer engineering, or related field preferred plus in-field experience required. Relevant experience with related certifications (MCSE, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CNE) may be considered.
- Minimum 2 years experience with desktop hardware and software engineering, including experience with network communications and server support in a CISCO/Microsoft environments.
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to research & solve complex issues independently.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Must be dependable, punctual, relate well with others and able to meet deadlines.
Pay Range: $19.00 - $25.00 DOE
