The Head Athletic Coach is responsible for providing direction in the area of their specific team's play, practice, and games for the Providence Creek Academy Charter School.

This positon will require approximately 15 hours per week for the full duration of the season.
Compensation: To be determined at the start of each fiscal year by the Head of School, Finance Committee, and Board of Directors and paid as an EPER stipend at the conclusion of the season pending all equipment has been turned in.

Under the supervision of the Athletic Director, the Head Athletic Coach will:
- Establishes the fundamental philosophy, skills and techniques to be taught.
- Delegates specific duties, supervises implementation, and at season's end, analyzes staff effectiveness and evaluates all assistants
- Maintains discipline, adjusts grievances and works to increase morale and cooperation
- Assists in the necessary preparation to hold scheduled practices and adheres to scheduled facility times- updates the athletic director with any changes
- Provides proper safeguards for maintenance and protection of assigned equipment
- Provides training rules and any other unique regulations of the sport to each athlete who is considered a participant.
- Gives constant attention to a student athlete's grades and conduct
- By his/her presence at all practices, games and while traveling, provides assistance, guidance and safeguards for each participant
- Completes reports of all disabling athletic injuries on proper forms and submits to Athletic Director within 24 hours
- Directs student managers, assistants and statisticians
- Determines discipline, delineates procedures concerning due process when the enforcement of discipline is necessary and contacts parents
- Assists athletes with their educational needs
- Is accountable for all equipment and collects the cost of any equipment lost or not returned. Arranges for issuing, storing of equipment and submits annual inventory
- Responsible for cleanliness and maintenance of specific sport equipment. Properly marks and identifies all equipment before issuing or storing-tracks whereabouts of equipment
- Examines locker rooms before and after practices and games. Checks on general cleanliness of the facility
- Secures all doors, lights, windows and locks before leaving building when custodians are not on duty
- Instills in each player a respect for equipment and school property, its care and proper use
- Organizes parents, coaches, players and guests for pre-season meetings
- Promotes the sport within the school by recruiting athletes that are not participating in sports. Promotes sports outside the school through news media, little league programs or other club teams
- Other duties as assigned
Education:
- A high school degree
- CPR / AED Certified
- Positive Coaching Alliance Certified Preferred
- 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role
- 5+ years playing or coaching
Ability to:
- Communicate accurately and effectively with various levels of staff, students, and families
- Hold players accountable
- Understand and implement protocols, procedures, and policies passed down through PCA
- Remain organized with filing and systems
- Complete all required trackers for equipment
- Interview student helpers
- Have difficult conversations regarding education and playing time
