JOB TYPE: 20 to 40 hours a week (very flexible, all shifts and days available)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responds face-to-face to crisis calls initiated from ACCESS (State of Hawaii) within forty-five (45) minutes of the initial call (Islandwide).
- Provides intake and assessment - determining nature of crisis, evaluating immediate needs, applying clinically appropriate interventions, and determining ongoing needs.
- Stabilizes consumer and assists them to return to their pre-crisis level of functioning by Determining if a consumer is in need of observation and stabilization or other consumer-preferred sites for management of crisis, coordinating services, making referrals, and ensuring transportation needs are met.
Qualifications and Skills
1. Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of twelve (12) semester credit hours in counseling, criminal justice, human services, psychology, social work, social welfare, sociology or other related behavioral health field.
2. One and one half (1½) years of specialized experience in above field is required.
3. One to two years of experience working in substance abuse treatment centers preferred.
