PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
StarVista's Community Wellness and Crisis Response Team (CWCRT) Pilot Program, in partnership with San Mateo County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services and county police departments; is designed to improve law enforcement response to community members experiencing mental health crisis.
POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
To provide operational and administrative support to the cities under the JAG Grant funding (East Palo Alto, Menlo Park, and San Bruno). To support these clinicians who respond with law enforcement to 911 calls to these specific cities when individuals are suspected to be in a mental health crisis.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Monitor and ensure all clinicians have valid and active clinical licenses, necessary to engage in the practice of therapy in the State of California.
- Attend all collaborative meetings with BHRS, including monthly San Mateo Youth Advisory meetings.
- Prepare CWCRT Program Manual in collaboration with Program Director and Senior Director.
- Conduct AVATAR trainings with clinicians, as necessary.
- Ensure clinicians are attending all designated meetings and monthly mandatory trainings (document and forward certificates of completion to HR).
- Manage all onboarding and training of all newly hired clinicians.
- Submit all social media, interviews, and speaking engagement requests to Program Director for review and approval.
- Collect and forward all program data to BHRS and ETO and prepare all monthly and annual reports.
- Attend and participate in all meetings related to the program and take copious notes for later review and follow-up.
- Serve as co-facilitator of bi-weekly clinical consultation meetings.
- Submit all grievances and program-related concerns to the Program Director for review.
- Manage program to ensure that high quality services are delivered, and that records are maintained in accordance with appropriate standards. Create and implement quality assurance procedures.
- Perform other duties, as deemed necessary.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Teams, and Zoom.
- Knowledge of procedures and issues specific to mobile crisis intervention.
- Ability to develop strong working relationships with community agencies.
- Experience working in multicultural communities.
- Establish relationships with psychiatric hospitals, and community resources.
- Ability to collaborate cooperatively with clinicians, police, and community activists.
- Enjoys working with law enforcement and the community.
- Level of comfortability making presentations to outside organizations, agencies, and the community.
- Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability managing competing tasks in demanding environments.
- Flexibility in meeting changing priorities as the work requires.
- Able to function as part of a clinical team and possess strong people skills.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field preferred.
- Combination of administrative experience and education preferred.
- Basic knowledge of crisis management preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication skills required.
