Crisis Hotline Responder

Location: 4633 Aicholtz Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45244

Hours: 28-40 hours per week

Degree Required: Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of mental health experience

Degree Preferred: Master’s or Bachelor’s in Social Work, Master’s In Counseling or Psychology

License Preferred: LSW, LPC. LISW, LPCC, or IMFT

Our Crisis team is looking for a Hotline Responder to provide support and guidance to callers experiencing mental health concerns/issues and offer problem resolution assistance to individuals requiring behavioral health support in the communities of Clermont and Brown Counties. This position will be located at the Child Focus office in Mt. Carmel, Ohio. This position is eligible for some remote work after successful completion of the 90 day probationary period. Responsibilities will include answering the hotline during scheduled hours, completing follow up calls, managing referrals, gathering data in order to complete reporting required for 988 implementation and other duties to support the Crisis Services team at Child Focus.

The Clermont and Brown Crisis Hotline Responder will use their empathy and listening skills to assist callers with their immediate needs including lethality assessment, screening mobile crisis requests, providing referrals, and support.

This very important role will take calls as part of our 24/7 Crisis Hotline and assist callers in developing solutions to their situations.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Employ active listening techniques to assist callers in de-escalating from mental health issues/concerns.
  • Provide immediate telephone crisis management to callers identified at risk for suicide or any other mental health emergency to assist in the stabilization of caller.
  • Functions within a collaborative team of professionals providing crisis management to adults, children and families in the community.
  • Actively participate in required trainings in order to enhance professional self and aid in program development.
  • Provide appropriate linkages to all needed services and other community resources.
  • Provide immediate linkage to psychiatric and medical services when necessary.
  • Maintain client records including call documentation in compliance with applicable Ohio law and Child Focus call records procedures.
  • Collect data and complete reporting required for 988 implementation
  • Other duties as assigned in order to support the Crisis Services department
