Principal Duties:
- Provides follow-up psychotherapy and counseling to victims and families
- Understands the impact of sexual abuse/assault/exploitation on the individual and family.
- Develops a therapeutic relation with client and establishes mutual treatment goals.
- Assesses developmental norms and identifies problematic behavior symptomatic of sexual abuse/assault
- Utilizes special techniques in assessment and treatment for children.
- Assesses the environment’s safety for the victim and recommends alternatives as indicated.
- Provides group counseling.
- Writes professional clinical summaries and court reports as requested.
- Utilizes active listening skills to ascertain each patient’s needs; responds in an appropriate manner.
- Responds to needs of all crisis line callers in an appropriate manner in accordance with written procedures.
