POSITION OVERVIEW
Under the general direction of the Team Manager, provides leadership for a functional team within a high performance environment. Oversees the daily management of the function, including all aspects of Safety, and drives improvement activities through the development of people and processes. Has overall accountability for the results of the teams.
Good understanding of procedures and concepts in all areas of operational work flow. Requires an understanding and ability to apply procedures and concepts of technical area
Oversees the activities of maintenance, QA, IT, and cycle counting. Role is also responsible for facility training program, CCI, CI, 5S, JTE, and all other miscellaneous admin duties as assigned.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads facility support team in a manner consistent with the core beliefs and and guiding pronciples of McCormick's High Performance System.
- Utilizes coaching and facilitation skills to manage employee relations.
- Works with the Team Manager to provide regular performance feedback and oversees development/training plans for individuals within the team.
- With the Team Manager's general direction, actively uses performance and development tools to document and facilitate improvement/recognition discussions.
- Rewards and recognizes performance achievements. Removes barriers that prevent the team from achieving goals.
- Utilizes problem solving tools and methodologies to implement continually improve processes within the function.
- Application of JTE/TPM tools to build capability and eliminate losses, including but not limited to FI, AM, PM, Training & Development, Office Management, and Early Equipment Management pillar tools; lead or serve as key member of site TPM pillar teams
- Directs and supports the daily management of the team to prioritize work and achieve goals.
- Works with the Crew Leaders to ensure the sharing of resources to make the best use of existing skills to meet business needs.
- Communicates challenges to the Team Manager and asks for support from the Team Manager when needed to remove barriers.
- On an annual basis, execute specific projects and action plans (in additional to core work, above) in support of the functional OGSM.
- Manages the technical aspects of the role, specific to the functional area(s).
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in managing teams. Experience in Distribution Center/ Warehouse preferred. Min. of 12 months of experience in plant/DC/warehouse environment or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 year of experience
- Experience in accessing databases.
- Strong skills in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong skills in written and verbal communication skills
- Strong understanding of SAP transactions and SAP data
- Basic understanding of how all areas integrate with other areas and co-ordinates to contribute to the achievement of goals. Some knowledge of how external factors impact the site.
- Good analytical skills
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on an occasional basis
- Ability to drive various forklifts
- Ability to work OT with short notice and on weekends
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bilingual in English/Spanish
- Experience with Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
