Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Overseeing staff members and ensuring the accurate and timely collection of dealer accounts.
- Setting payment collection goals and targets for the collection department.
- Creating and implementing a strategy to improve the collection of outstanding credit.
- Creating collection policies and procedures to avoid excessive outstanding credit.
- Ensuring that the company policy on recoveries is followed and that it is in line with state and federal regulations.
- Negotiating with customers in cases when non-payment occurs.
- Preparing weekly receivable, aged trial balance percentage reports on payment collections for the CEO, CFO, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and Vice President Sales Administration for review.
- Training and mentoring of staff in the collections department.
- Develop, review and update our company’s credit policies.
- Setting payment collection goals at the beginning of the month.
- Develop staff into leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; or a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a credit/collection manager.
- Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office products.
- The ability to work accurately and independently.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent analytical skills and an eye for detail.
- Outstanding leadership and managerial skills.
- Strong time and people management skills.
- Ability to work to strict deadlines.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or a similar field.
- Proven work experience as a Credit Manager.
- Advanced knowledge of accounting software.
- Good understanding of credit procedures.
- Excellent analytical, communication, interpersonal skills.
- Ability to deal with stressful situations.
LANGUAGE/COMMUNICATION SKILLS
- Must be able to communicate well with staff, customers, vendors and other internal departments.
- High level communications skills – written and verbal
