Your role in helping us shape the future:

U.S. News is seeking a sharp credit and Credit Cards expert and reporter to empower consumers with the knowledge needed to make the best credit-related decisions.

This reporter is responsible for writing insightful, actionable articles about credit and Credit Cards, such as how to improve your credit score, how to use your credit card points most effectively, what unique benefits your credit card may offer, and whether you can use your credit card to pay your mortgage or student loans. You’ll also expert review our credit card articles, guides and lender reviews to ensure accuracy and demonstrate expertise to readers.

In addition, the credit card expert will work with our PR team to make television, radio and web appearances to promote and be the face of our credit card guides and advice content. There could be opportunities for video and podcasting as well.

Strong writing and communication skills are required, and a credit/Credit Cards and personal finance background is a must.

• You’re a recognized subject matter expert in the Credit Cards field, as demonstrated through your writing samples, online profile and media clips.

• You’re able to translate difficult or dense credit topics into easy-to-read and actionable articles.

• You have your finger on the pulse of the credit card industry and can bring ideas for columns, surveys and pitches as developments arise.

• You have no problem handling last-minute or live media interviews.

• You’re excited about helping to guide our Credit Cards advice content strategy.

This position involves working closely with an enthusiastic, highly collaborative team of editors, social media experts, and PR and communications professionals in a fast-paced digital environment.
