Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Credentialing Specialist to join our team. As a Credentialing Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that all healthcare providers meet the necessary qualifications and credentials to provide services within our organization. This is a crucial role in maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Review and verify healthcare provider credentials, licenses, and certifications
- Conduct thorough background checks and reference checks
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date provider files
- Communicate with healthcare providers to obtain missing or incomplete information
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely completion of credentialing processes
- Stay updated on industry standards and regulations related to credentialing
- Assist with audits and compliance reviews as needed
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, standards, and procedures
- Familiarity with medical office operations and managed care organizations
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient in using credentialing software or databases
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
