In 1987, Pizza Port Brewing Company started off as a pizza “port” in Solana Beach, CA featuring a classic menu of pizza with a “San Diego” twist. Early on, free space in the restaurant area was used to dabble in “home” brewing. Eventually, we were brewing more than could reasonably be consumed at “home”. So, we transitioned into the brewpub business. Pizza Port Brewing Company was born when the Pizza Port location offered its first craft-brewed beers to patrons in 1992.

Embracing the same “flavor-driven” principles that made our pizza menu so popular, Pizza Port Brewing Company quickly gained a reputation in San Diego’s emerging Craft Beer scene. We have since expanded to seven locations along the San Diego coast line with our northernmost location in the Orange County beach community of San Clemente. Our production facility in Bressi Ranch, a community located within Carlsbad, CA, opened in 2013 and houses a brewing and packaging facility, brewpub, commissary, and management office. Our beer is now distributed throughout California, Arizona, Nevada and beyond. We are grateful to have received many awards and accolades throughout the years from prestigious competitions such as the Great American Beer Festival and the World Beer Cup, and in 2022 were listed by the Brewers Association as the 49th largest independent brewery in the United States. Continuing our growth in the Sacramento Area of Northern California

We are now looking for a Sacramento Sales Representative. The Sales Representative will be responsible for growing the business of Pizza Port Brewing Company in the Sacramento area, as well as parts of the Central Valley and Northern Nevada, all while having too much FUN! The Sales Representative will act as ambassador of our brand and support our mantra of “Good Beer Brings Good Cheer!” The Sales Rep will be responsible for executing our go to market strategy, achieving sales targets and growth goals, promoting and educating the masses on our brand all while maintaining a positive and fun attitude in order to make Pizza Port Brewing Company the first choice for enjoying Craft Beer.

Passion for the Craft Beer industry and a strong commitment to personal integrity is a must.

Essential Job duties/responsibilities

• Create and maintain positive consultative relationships with key decision makers or decision influencers in accounts.
• Achieve sales growth at on premise, off premise, and specialty accounts.
• Develop new accounts and placements.
• Follow up at accounts to ensure our beers are properly labeled, represented, stored and served to our standards.
• Partner and collaborate with our Distribution partners to grow our distribution.
• Identify key/major accounts and implement our sales strategies to establish business in those accounts
• Develop, manage, and execute marketing and brand awareness programs to support placements, including promotions, food pairings, tastings, merchandising, POS, and special events.
• Conduct education and training on our products and brand with distributors, accounts and customers.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience and Education

• Two years of proven results oriented sales experience; beverage industry experience highly preferred.
• High school diploma, general education degree or equivalent required; four-year college degree preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Passion for Craft Beers and general knowledge and understanding of different beer styles
• Strong people, communication and selling skills
• Good interpersonal skills, including professionalism with a customer service focus
• Good time management, planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
• Good computer and phone skills with the ability to complete administrative work as associated with the job
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Availability to work a flexible full time schedule with evenings and weekend work

Other Considerations

• Availability to travel to areas outside of region, such as home office in Carlsbad (Southern California) as needed
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be at least 21 years of age
• Must have a good driving record
• Ability to lift and move cases of beer (approximately 25 lbs) as well as lift/move 50 pound kegs; ability to handle and use a dolly for higher weight kegs.
