Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- With direction from the Race Director and Course Manager sufficiently marks a course using marking tape and directional arrows based on Race Director guidelines and an existing course design
- Ensures the core product of Spartan Race (the course) is built within company guidelines for mileage, throughout, challenge, and safety.
- Takes creative liberties to enhance the racer experience leveraging existing unique terrain
- Assists in directing volunteers to help finish all course marking within the given timeframe
- Addresses any course issues on race day, being proactive about searching for problems before they happen.
- Assist and Manages all Course Operations personnel including pre-runners, course pullers, and course sweepers.
- This description reflects managements assignment of essential functions, it does not restrict other tasks that may be assigned.
Qualifications:
- Comfortable traveling for 2 weeks at a time.
- Have personal experience racing, preferably trail racing and/or OCR Comfortable reading a map and terrain
- Comfortable operating independently when necessary
- Thrive in a fast paced high stimulus environment and be able to multitask.
- Have the physical stamina required to walk many miles each day carrying a back pack full of supplies.
- Comfortable using GPS and supporting technology
