JOB SUMMARY
This is a 3-6 month training program for a Counter Sales position in one of our 3 south metro Atlanta stores. The 6-month program is evenly split between on the job training and knowledge acquisition. Upon completion of the program the associate will become a Counter sales associate, assigned to one of our Atlanta locations and will participate in our 1,2,3, monthly commission plan in addition to their hourly wage. The Counter Sales associate will maintain relationships and obtains orders of existing customers in wholesale distribution environment and through ongoing engagement with repeat customers. Performs any duties assigned by the branch or Counter Sales manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. During the 6 month training program the trainee will spend 1/2 of their time working in the all phases of the business including pulling warehouse tickets, working in the pipe yard, helping on the counter, working will call.
2. Another 1/2 of their time will be spent taking classes on line in Mayer University, completing EPEC, shadowing the counter associates, and attending other courses.
3.Upon completion of the program the associate will become a Counter sales associate which includes taking customer orders and pulling the materiel.
4. Generating acceptable Gross Margin through sales of products.
5. Tracking customer orders for on-time delivery and appropriate billing.
6. Maintaining Counter Sales area for appearance and current supplier promotional materials.
7. Handles customer returns and credits in a timely fashion.
8. Follows up (by phone or visit) on quotations submitted to customers.
9. Ensures customers receive orders in a timely and accurate fashion.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Participates in annual inventory preparation and inventory process.
2. Performs any directly related appropriate duties assigned by the branch or Counter Sales manager.
3. Performs assigned duties with minimum personal supervision from the branch or Counter Sales manager.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
1. High School Diploma.
2. Bilingual - English/Spanish
3. Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, self-starter, sense of urgency, personable, extroverted personality, well organized
4. Able to lift 70 Lbs.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE / CAPABILITIES:
1. College degree.

Pay: $18.00 - $18.50 per hour
