Form of workThis Licensed clinician will provide clinically appropriate therapeutic interventions based on best practices to service members, veterans, and family members at the Veterans One Stop. Must average 50% direct client contact time as reflected on management reports. Liaison with relevant local and state agencies in order to link clients with needed services including the Veterans Service Officers, Texas Veterans Commission, VA and other appropriate agencies.
Under the immediate supervision of the Clinical Program Manager of Veterans Services for clinical and administrative issues performs assigned therapeutic interventions to service members, veterans, and family members. EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED: Performs assessment, diagnosis and treatment with clients. Provides individual, family and group intervention when appropriate.
Possess knowledge and understanding of treatment modalities which will benefit the individual client. Must be eligible to be certified in one or more of the following with in 12 months of hire date: CPT,PE, or EMDR. Knowledge of military culture and military related trauma.
Possess skills to document clinical services provided in a timely manner no later than 48 hours following client interaction. Participates as a team member on the collaborative team for treatment of clients. Provide professional evaluations, decisions, and recommendations for treatment.
May perform emergency assessments as needed. Acts as liaison between all appropriate agencies, physicians, and community resources for purposes of admission, treatment and discharge planning. May participate in budget planning, unit administration, and program development.
Performs related work as required and assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Considerable knowledge of the principles, methods, techniques and practices of therapy and interpersonal relationships, the functioning of social service or treatment facility community resources and how to use them effectively. Knowledge, Skills, and Essential Functions Excellent written communication and basic computer skills Excellent verbal communication with clients, staff, and community partners Time management required to meet service goals Stooping, bending, sitting, standing, keyboarding for prolonged periods, and lifting up to 30 lbs.
Ability to be CPR and PMAB certified Valid driver's license, liability insurance, and reliable transportation required Education and Experience Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology, or related field required. Must be licensed as a LCSW, LPC, or LMFT. Must be able to obtain and maintain credentialing as a Qualified Mental Health Professional through training and competency evaluations for employment in this position.
