We are seeking a Counselors to join our team! Provides crisis counseling, support groups, information, referrals, follow-up contact and case management services to victims of domestic and sexual violence. Bi-lingual preferred.

Abuse Counseling and Treatment, Inc. is now hiring a full-time Master’s Degree Outreach Counselors. Bi-lingual preferred.

Essential job duties and responsibilities:

Provides crisis intervention, advocacy, psychoeducation, crisis counseling, and therapy. Counselors also participate in the 24/7 on-call crisis response program providing survivors of a recent sexual assault accompaniment during medical forensic examinations, education, and supportive services.

Fluent in Spanish is preferred.

Other responsibilities include:

Inform victims of the legal, educational, economic, housing, and social service resources.

Refer victim to appropriate community resources upon request.

Assist individuals to understand and overcome social and emotional problems relating to domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking.

Works with staff in identifying gaps in services and formulates specific interventions to address concerns.

Maintains appropriate records and reports in accordance with the policies and procedures of Abuse Counseling and Treatment, Inc., funding sources, and as directed by the Chief Executive Officer.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

Ability to plan and set realistic goals, objectives, and priorities; anticipate possible problems; commit activities to a realistic but challenging schedule

Knowledge of psychological and sociological aspects of victimization

Clinical expertise in emergency psychology, theory and practice of group psychotherapy, and a systems approach to supervision and management

Work and Educational Requirements:

Master’s Degree in mental health counseling or psychology, social work, or other related fields.

At least one year of experience providing direct counseling services to underserved or marginalized populations is preferred.
