Cost Control Specialist

Overview:

The Project Controls Specialist is generally responsible for planning and scheduling of heavy industrial engineering projects, monitoring project costs and/or estimating projects. Work will be performed under general supervision in Port Neches, TX. Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Developing estimates for engineering and construction projects including but not limited to estimates associated with change notices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor or Master degree in Construction Science, Building Science or advanced coursework is highly preferred.
• Requires 3 or more years of relevant industrial experience in planning, scheduling, Cost Control and estimating.
• Knowledge and application of company business standards and good practices.
• Possesses a comprehensive understanding of all engineering disciplines.
• Understanding of customer deliverable expectations and preferences.
• Ability to effectively discuss and correspond with engineering disciplines and/or contractors to ascertain and understand pertinent information concerning estimates
• Excellent listening and communication skills, bother verbal and written.
• Excellent presentation and organizational skills.
• Knowledge and understanding of schedule constraints and information requirements for the production of all estimating deliverables.
• Ability to develop a construction cost estimate.
• Ability to determine construction material quantities.
• Proficient in the use of Aspen and Timberline estimating software.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
• Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50.00 - $65.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
