Job Description
Essential Functions:
Inventory
- Coordinate physical inventory counts and cycle counts
- Investigate count variances, resolve issues and communicate results with operations
- Develop and maintain standard costs
- Monitor manufacturing variances and communicate results with operations
- Validate ending inventory balance and cost of goods sold as part of the month-end close
- Accumulate and allocate overhead and conversion costs
- Design procedures to identify and dispose of obsolete inventory
Analysis
- Conduct ongoing process constraint analyses
- Report on breakeven points by product line
- Report on margins by product, customer and division
- Report on financial statement fluctuations
- Develop customer pricing proposals and volume discount pricing matrices
General/Accounting and Reporting
- Design, establish and maintain General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Asset and Inventory processes
- Design and implement monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes
- Prepare financial statements, analytics, monthly reconciliations, journal entries
- Analyze data and report on ratios, trends and variances
- Ensures timely reporting of financial data to Corporate
- Prepare budgets, forecasts and related analyses
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls to ensure compliance
- Act as liaison with internal and external auditors
- Ensure statutory reporting is processed in accordance with individual requirements such as sales tax filings, income taxes, etc.
- Prepare internal and external stakeholder presentations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in finance or accounting.
- 8+ years of experience in Accounting related positions
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior team members
- Manufacturing experience with an understanding of relevant accounting and financial reporting, Cost Accounting/reporting, cash flow projections, financial modeling, consolidated financial statement preparation and job costing business models required
- Experience working with SAP preferred
- Highly proficient with MS Office
- Superior analytical and quantitative skills
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, ability to influence the decisions of others (including executive management)
