Cost Accountant
Troy , AL
Product Costs:
Maintain and monitor product costs.
Report on production variances to standard cost
Report on margins by product group
Inventory Control:
Produce accurate inventory evaluation reports based on perpetual records as needed.
and assist in the development of key ratios to monitor.
Monitor cycle counts for variances and resolve issues.
Co-ordinate physical inventory counts, and cycle counts with Inventory Manager.
Manage inventory cycle counts of controlled items and related spot checks in
conjunction with Inventory and Compliance departments.
Validate the cost of goods sold as part of the month-end close
QUALIFICATIONS
Cost/Job Costing experience within a manufacturing environment
Ability to apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles & Cost Accounting Standards
Ability to collaborate with various departments to solve problems as a team.
Must be able to adapt to enable efficient data gathering and analysis.
Ability to research, compile, analyze and interpret data.
Good written, verbal communication and collaborative skills
High level of Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office products
Strong organizational and communicational skills
Detail oriented
Knowledge of INFOR VISUAL ERP software is an advantage.
Experience of ERP implementing, or reimplementation is an advantage.
Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
Prepared to travel on company business to Kimber locations.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting/ Finance
3 to 5 years of Cost Costing experience within a manufacturing environment
