Come join our team in the role of Corteva Product Agronomist! In this role, you would work with commercial unit Portfolio Leader and Product Life Cycle Manager to plan and conduct product evaluation trials supporting product advancement and positioning. Partner with District Sales Leaders, Retail Managers, and Field Agronomists to create and deliver product information/training which improves the product knowledge of our sales team and the productivity and profitability of our customers.

This is a remote position covering MS and TN and can be based anywhere in MS/TN area. If hired, you may be required to travel as necessary to support business activities.

What You’ll Do:

Product Evaluation and Life Cycle Management

  • Collect information/notes and observations related to the performance of Pioneer® and PhytoGen® brand seed products and associated technologies
  • Provide overall performance evaluations on Pioneer and PhytoGen seed products
  • Coordinate Area product evaluation trials (IMPACT, University OVT’s, Agronomic Strains, etc.)
  • Serve as liaison between field sales and research
  • Lead GAP Analysis process
  • Represent District in product advancement discussions and decisions
  • Guide territory teams on new product introduction and retirements
  • Lead district demand planning efforts

Technical Product Training

  • Work with Area and District teams to provide support for information and education/training to field sales force on product characteristics, product positioning, and crop management practices
  • Work with Field Agronomist on product training

Sales Support

  • Resolve customer service calls involving product performance when unable to be resolved by the Retail Manager or Field Agronomist
  • Assist with sales calls as needed

Qualifications

What Skills You Need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree in Agronomy or equivalent is preferred.
  • Five to seven years agronomy experience and proven abilities.

Demonstrated knowledge of:

  • Crop production/cultural practices
  • Pioneer and PhytoGen offerings and competitive agronomy/product/service offerings; local Ag markets; value chain and production practices, and Corteva product offerings in relation to seed
  • Selling & marketing tools and techniques
  • Environmental, regulatory, and stewardship issues of Pioneer, PhytoGen, and competitive products at the local/regional level
  • Company policies and procedures

Demonstrated skills in:

  • Teaching/training and presenting
  • Product testing and evaluation
  • Working knowledge of field experimentation methods
  • Understanding of yield monitors, mapping systems, and spatial data
  • Observing, analyzing, summarizing, and communicating product/agronomic trial results and information
  • Conflict resolution and handling objections
  • Using computer hardware and software to generate reports, access, and communicate technical information and complete administrative duties

Demonstrated ability to:

  • Communicate and transfer knowledge both verbally and written
  • Build/maintain strong relationships with customers, key industry/market influencers, Pioneer & PhytoGen internal partners and teammates
  • Work effectively within a team environment
  • Lead and influence projects and coach individuals in accomplishing defined objectives/goals
  • Understands the needs and values of partners and customers and to develop solutions to satisfy/retain
  • Get results by taking initiative, overcoming obstacles & finding creative solutions
  • Work independently with minimum supervision and operate within budget
  • Work in and adapt to a rapidly changing business environment
