Corporate Gift Officer

Since being founded locally in 1985, Make-A-Wish Illinois has granted more than 15,000 wishes and continues its mission to share the power of a wish with children in all 102 counties across the state.

Job Summary:

Identifies, qualifies, cultivates, solicits, and manages a portfolio of local and national corporate accounts (national accounts in conjunction with Make-A-Wish America) in order to achieve $1-$1.5 million in revenue. Key focuses are on workplace giving, cause-marketing programs, corporate event sponsorship and corporate fundraising campaigns. Attendance at weekend and evening events is required. This position will require local travel.

Major Responsibilities:

• Manages a portfolio of approximately 75-150 relationships with current local and national corporate donors and prospects at various stages of cultivation cycle from identification through solicitation and stewardship in partnership

• Develops a multi-faceted approach for engaging businesses and prospects through corporate giving programs, sponsorships, workplace giving, fundraising programs and other opportunities through cultivation and stewardship

• Conducts prospect research and analysis on businesses, corporate foundations, identifying areas of philanthropic interest, giving history, and fit with Make-A-Wish mission
• Prepares pitches for prospects, toolkits for campaigns, and other decks for communication
• Tracks prospect/donor activity in official CRM- correspondence, phone calls, meetings, cultivation events, acts of stewardship (gifts, lunches, information packets) and revenue generation against budget.
• Represents the Foundation at fundraising events.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

• Proven record of successful corporate relationship building and goal attainment
• Excellent written, verbal and speaking communication skills
• Strong knowledge of Office applications, including Power Point, Excel, Word, Teams
• Familiarity with Raisers Edge, Salesforce or other Customer Relationship Management software
• Strong organization skills

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Bachelors Degree
• 3 5 years experience in sales, marketing, sales promotion or related field
• 3 5 years development/fundraising experience, major gift experience preferred
