Astranis is seeking a Corporate Counsel who is enthusiastic about technology and its potential for positive impact in peoples' lives. In this role, you will participate in driving high-profile cross-functional initiatives across the business involving a variety of complex legal and regulatory issues relating to third party risk management.Our ideal person exhibits sharp analytical and communication skills, that is diligent, proactive, collaborative, and curious.
Role- Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, including supply chain/vendor agreements, purchase orders, service agreements, nondisclosure agreements, and other bespoke agreements.
- Build out and iterate on playbooks, resources, FAQs and related guidelines/standard agreements.
- Identify and execute general process improvements to help drive legal department efficiency
- Own the NDA process, including refreshing templates, establishing escalation points, and creating streamlined processes to speed up the NDA lifecycle
- Help drive corporate governance matters for multiple legal entities, including powers of attorney, formation documents, and intercompany agreements
- Play a key role in managing Astranis' export compliance programs, undertaking special projects and other compliance support initiatives
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and membership in at least one U.S. state bar
- 2-4 years of attorney experience; a mix of regulatory, law, firm, and/or in-house experience is a plus
- Fluency translating legal advice into strategic, actionable guidance for innovative product and business teams
- Strong written and oral communication skills, and high attention to detail without sacrificing sense of urgency
- Ability to prioritize and manage projects effectively with minimal supervision
- Issue-spotting and problem-solving skills. and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
